Barge

I.
The wooden barge
Floats on endless instance
Of watery front
II.
I walk its planks
Capturing the silvery eye
Of its sea bound lantern
III.
My feet meld
Its shaken core
My hands it’s torn sky
IV.
As I boarded
I became
One
V.
When I leave
I will become
Many
VI.
The storm clears
Inside of my soul
As the mellow sun embraces the waves
VII.
The light flows
Through the currents
Of the many blue cloak
IIX.
On the wings of the winds
Gliding towards
The Solitary Mount
IX.
Cherry blossoms
Play beneath
The oaken bow amongst the waves
X.
The silence
Of wood and earth and sky
Binds within my soul
XI.

I draw from the ink
Upon the barren wood
The characters of inner peace
XII.
I see
the green hills
and their fruitful valleys
XIII.
They pass by
like the summer breeze
upon my cheek
XIV.
My barge glides
Lonesomely
Upon the quiet river
XV.
It shakes
Violently
Upon the stormy sea
XVI.
My heart
lies within
the Tattered plank
the chipped steering wheel
the oak tiller
XVII.
My feet touch
the earthy ground
of my homeland
IIXX.
My barge rests
in the homely waters
Amongst the cherry blossoms
IXX.
I gaze at the harbor
in Buddha pose
it’s infinite waves
XX.
the many shapes
of my zen
caught within the waves
